David Brown, Chicago, IL, is an accomplished attorney who counsels public companies and closely held businesses on complex matters, including strategic planning, talent development, acquisitions and dispositions, private placements of debt, and equity and tax and entity structures. He also serves as Chairman of Much Shelist, P. C. and is actively involved in strategic planning and leadership development for the firm. David serves as the board chair of the National Association of Jewish Legislators (NAJL).

David also serves as immediate past Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Jewish Federations of North America and recently chaired the Ukraine Allocations Sub-Committee, managing the flow of relief funds and disbursements to refugees displaced by the conflict in Ukraine. He is a past National Campaign Chair for Jewish Federations, a member of the organization's Executive Committee and past Chair of the Jewish Community Relations Council/Jewish Council for Public Affairs Task Force, which examines Jewish community relations in the United States.

David is an active board member of Jewish United Fund of Metropolitan Chicago (JUF) and a past Chairman of its Board of Directors. He also is the Vice Chair of Secure Community Network, a national not-for-profit providing security protection for the Jewish community in North America.

In 2016, David was a recipient of JUF’s Julius Rosenwald Award, its highest honor. David is active in AIPAC and is a regular visitor to Israel. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and is the immediate past Chapter Chair of his YPO Gold Chicago Chapter. In 2017, he received the Man of the Year Award for Outstanding Leadership and Service from Jewish fraternity Zeta Beta Tau.

As an active teen, David was involved in BBYO as part of the Waukegan, Illinois AZA chapter. He served as Chapter President, Illinois Council Moreh, and District 6 AZA S’gan (vice-president). In February 2022, David and his wife, Suzanne Muchin, were honored by the American Jewish Committee Chicago with the organization’s 2022 AJC Human Rights Medallion Award.

David and his wife Suzanne live in Chicago and have five children.
